Soap and Glory Make-up - First Impression

 Happy Weekend Beauties!

Whilst brousing my local boots for the first time I spotted the Soap & Glory make-up range. I'm going to go ahead and say it.. I'm not the biggest soap and glory fan. I love the body scrubs but asides from that I'm not keen on the smell or the way they make my skin feel and I sometimes feel the packaging is what sells the products? Totally un-popular opinion but like always I want to be 100% honest with you guys, of course if you have any suggestions on things I should try then leave them in the comments! So naturally apon checking out the make-up I did a lot of 'picking-up-and-putting-back-down' I didn't want to purchase something I wasn't going to love or something just because I was atracted to the packaging. I settled on these two items I thought they were practical, suited my skin tone well and would be a great 'introduction' to the brand.

Kick Ass Instant Retouch Powder - I was in the market for a new powder and the description of this one fitted the bill. Transparent, weightless, superblur and with camoflawge(what ever that is) technology. I did swatch it store and notice how yellow it looks in the pan, however when swatched the shade it is muted but still the tinyest hint of yellow remains. The texture of the powder is super super fine but on the chalky side to the point where if you swirl a brush in it, it will disperse everywhere, the air, in the compact(Which I might add is probably the sturdiest I've brought on the highstreet) and all over your hands. However, on the plus side this is an amazing setting and top up powder it holds my make-up in place really well but I'm not sure if this is just a pale skin thing but I find I can see it sitting on my skin. I do think it also clings to just the make-up so if your make-up has a tendency to slide, this will go along with it. Although it does stop me from getting a 'shiny' look that I really don't like! I probably wouldn't purchase this again but if your looking for a compact that won't explode in your make-up bag and can be used as a top-up when your out and about this one might be what you are after!

Kick Ass Blur & Brighten  - It's really unlike me to stray from my favourite concealers but I picked this one up anyhoo, Stated that it's longlasting, blurs imperfections and banishes shadow so I gathered it would be good for under eyes. It's a shade or two dark for my skintone but I picked it up  for my under eyes, the yellow tone is perfect for covering my dark circles. The unusual thing about this concealer is it's super moisturising to the point of being a little oily, it's great if your under eyes are a little dry like mine but I feel you have to set it super fast so it doesn't crease, move and slip all over your eye. I personally wouldn't put it this on facial imperfections as it's so 'oily' but around my nose and on any other visible redness. I think overall it's actually pretty good, its a shame the shades are limited too light(this one) and medium.

So that's it, I'm not sure I'll be picking up anything else from Soap & Glory's make-up range although I have since heard great things about the Supercat eyeliner and the eyeshadow quads. So, I might look into it and have a swatch or two!

Have you tried anything from the Soap & Glory make-up range? If so what did you think of it?
