Dermalogica - Daily Microfoliant

Happy Halloween you beautiful bunch!

The lovely people from beauty900 sent me a gorgeous bunch of goodies to try, they are a Authorised stocklist of Dermalogica skincare and more then 10 years in the industry. They also very kindly send samples off with your orders, which I adore as it opens you up to so many new products.

They sent me a few things over but so far I'm in love with this Dermalogica daily microfoliant. At first I was a little hesitant to use this as most exfoliaters I've used break me out dreadfully and cause me so much grief, but this is a delightful change.

One thing I would say about this product is the application is like nothing I've ever heard of before, it comes in powder form which you tip on to your hand, apply water until it forms a paste and then apply to face. I found it so unusual, but I could tell how well it was going to work because my hands felt so smooth before I'd even put it on my face, but, once on my face I found it gentle and soft and it sort of melts away at that point I applied more water and found it to emulsify a little more then I rinsed it off.

What I was left with was beautifully soft skin, no redness, no soreness, no tingling. Just the perfect product which does as it says on the tin. I really think you get what you pay for with dermalogica. Granted it on the pricey side BUT I can see the small 13g sample they sent me lasting at least a month as you only need the smallest amount!

Have you tried anything from Dermalogica? I'd love to try more!

Halloween Inspired by look #3... Charmed.

Halloween Inspired by.. Charmed

Oh My Love crop top / Topshop acid wash jeans, £22 / Topshop black leather ankle booties, £53 / Topshop monogram pendant, £5.56 / Topshop lipstick, £9.91

Okay so granted Charmed isn't the scariest of all Halloween inspired shows but I thought this outfit I created fitted so perfectly with the early 90's vibe of the show.

I adore the cut of the top and the old school looking jeans! paired with a cute pair of cut out shoes what's not to love? and I was so happy that I found a little 'P' necklace! for Piper, Pheobe and Prue! Perfect! All items are in topshop right now.

If you interested I've now to a whole tumblr account dedicated to these little 'inspired by...' polyvores and by clicking THIS LINK it will send you directly there or you can follow my Polyvore below.

Halloween Inspired #2 by.. Carrie.

Inspired by... Carrie.

River Island spaghetti strap dress / River Island platform shoes / River Island kiss lock purse / River Island open heart pendant necklace

Hello beauties,
Another lead up to halloween inspired by post here! I've really enjoyed creating these and have made a ton, I'll leave a link to my polyvore at the bottom as I don't see me stopping any time soon.

For this look I went for Carrie, everyone knows the story right? at least I hope they do its a classic! This is obviously Carrie pre-prom when she looks gorgeous and not covered in pigs blood. The colours are all super similar to the original and everything can be brought in River Island right now, I've just modernised it slightly and with the shoes and the pretty dress! I think with a little stragicially placed blood splatters (on yourself eg. face, arms, legs.) there no shadow of a doubt people will understand who you are!

What's your favourite thing to dress up for halloween as?

Halloween Inspired by... Look #1

Evening beauties,
I thought I would kick off my little series for Halloween till Thursday I'm going to post a different outfit, inspired by a halloween/creepy/horror show/film that I love and a different shop to buy them from, I hope you like it and it inspires you if you are still stuck for ideas! This is something completely different for my blog so I would love to know what you think!

I would do American Horror Story first, as it's my all time favourite TV series. If you follow me on twitter you will know I am in love with the new series 'Coven' anything to do with witches makes my heart happy. If you've not seen it you really really should!

I also used the shop 'primark' as 1. I work there so I've been  looking at inspiration for this all week, and 2. It's affordable, so if you don't think you'll wear it again at least it won't break the bank! Although they are all wearing black and are mostly covered up there is still something sexy about the outfits, which I loved the idea of very Halloween without looking like a tacky so and so! Also how amazing is that umbrella if anyone knows where I can find it please let me know.

What will you be going as this halloween?!

NYC Applelicious Lip Balm - Apple Blossom

Afternoon beauties!
Today I thought I'd show you this cute little NYC tinted Lip Balm I picked up!

I think this only cost £2.50-£3.00 which is so good as the product is most definitely a bigger sized lip balm then most, I also love the apple detailing that runs the whole way through the balm. The colour I got is the darkest but only shows a slight bit of purple tint, it feels amazing once on the lips, softening, non-sticky or greasy and really moisturising. The smell isn't really noticeable until you apply it to your lips, its a sweet apple scent that isn't overpowering  but still lovely. I loved popping this in my pocket while I was at work as it was super handy just to pull out and give my lips a quick bit of shine and a little colour but sadly I lost it the second day I had it! I was gutted beyond belief but for the great price I won't hesitate in buying another as I really do like them!

Which is your favourite lip balm?

Glossybox October 2013 - Dark Romance

Good Evening beauties,
I was so excited to receive this months Glossybox, which was themed 'Dark Romance' that makes me think of vampires and autumn fashions. Mmm. Unfortunately while I liked the products in the box they don't ring true to the name. I've done something a little different this time normally I just throw up a post of everything I get in my box the morning I get it but, I've chosen to use the items from the box for a week and then report back what I think. Let me know if you like this change!

inPRESS False Nails
Ooooh! Now who wouldn't be happy with this?! I haven't used them yet but know the brand is really amazing from previous experiences. These pretty nails have a gorgeous gold glitter pattern on the white which makes me excited for Christmas when I will be wipping these beauties out!

Katy Perry Killer Queen - Sample.
I see a lot of people don't like these little vials, but I find them quiet handy whenever I get them I tend to throw them in my handbag and whip them out when needed, this is also great as you get to experience the scent in a real life situation instead of 'spray, rub on wrist, sniff' I recently squirted this in the locker room at work and had a few people ask me what I'd sprayed. I like it but it doesn't ring true to what I imagine a 'Killer Queen' to smell like its sweet a fruity where as I expected it to be deep, musky maybe even a little masculine.

Monu - Illuminating Primer
I needed a primer and like buses two came along at once. However this is my favourite of the two, I had yet to use a softer/creamy primer but this was a very welcome addition. I like the feel of this primer and can apply it soon after my moisturiser, in the same way in fact! It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth, brighter and keeps my make-up in place all day. What more could you ask for? This is by far my favourite product I received from a brand I would love to know more about!

MeMeMe  - Cheek and Lip Tint
This is probably the only product that correlates with the boxes theme, I like it but I'm not sure I will get much use from it. I think it maybe a slightly cheaper dupe to the benefit version which name escapes me right now. I have tons of mini versions that I've used then tossed to the side as they all dry to quickly to blend or bleed on the lips. I will try it and if it impresses me expect a review!

Harmony Smoothie Serum
First up, I wouldn't say this is a serum to me a serum is mostly a clear liquid somewhere between a gel and a oil when applied to the sink I've always known serums to sink in and not leave a greasy residue. This however doesn't smell of anything, is creamy in texture it does however sink in perfectly but lacks and smell and effect!

I'm pretty pleased with this Glossybox, I feel they could of tried a little harder with the theme and the matching products but you win some.. I was also impressed with the fact all the products are of pretty decent size 2 full size and 2 generous samples sizes make me very happy and more possible to do some short and snappy reviews!

What did you think of my new Glossybox post?! What was your favourite?

Collection Gothic Glam Lipstick Collection.

Are you excited?! I'm so excite. How beautiful is this little Gothic Glam Collection from Collection? I instantly fell in love and picked up Scorned while in superdrug Friday, but then I realised I needed them all and went back and got the other two Monday! Boy am I glad I did, I'll stop blabbering and let the photo's do most of the talking.

I LOVE Scorned. My goodness, all the berry goodness of a dark plum shade. It looks so stunning against my pale skin. This is one of those colours I think would suit so many different skin tones as it's very bold. The only downside to these lipsticks is they cling to any dryness so lip balm is essential before use! I would also advice using a lip brush for precision application as one wrong move with this one can cause a whole heap of problems!

I wasn't expecting to love Seduction like I do, infact I didn't think I would like this at all but it has quickly become my favourite of the three. It's a super unusual colour almost like an autumn appropriate bright with a blue untone. Oooh it's pretty again use a lip brush!

Revenge is a stunning Raspberry red/pink that's so wearable and undoubtedly very sexy. I applied this awfully now I am looking at the photos. This one is slightly more on the wetter side? again a lip brush is needed and also a lip liner as it bleeds!

While these lipsticks really aren't work appropriate, they will look amazing as the weekend winter nights are drawing in, sipping hot chocolate and sitting by open fires. Too far? maybe but these would also be amazing if you fancy dressing up for Halloween as the price is also fantastic at £2.99 a pop! Commitment free.

What's you favourite of the bunch?

NYC Lip Stain - Berry Long TIme

Afternoon Lovelies!

Autumn is upon us! Rejoice, time to whack out the dark lippies and slap on those smoky eyes. While browsing in superdrug the other day I noticed all the dark colour rearing the sultry heads, Something about Autumn really excites me. I spotted this gem and picked it up instantly with a few other lip products i'll be posting this week.

I'm pretty late on the Lip Strain train to be honest, I tried one once and it was patchy and gross and I was forever put off, but I'm converted. All hail the the lip stain! This one from NYC is the perfect autumn shade, it's a stunning purple/plum colour that's effortlessly buildable. I've found that the best way to apply it layer by layer and allow the product to dry slightly before moving on to the next. You could easily make it as subtle as you wish or as bold.

As for the staying power? I've not tried it for long enough to say but the fact that I wore it for around 10 minutes like this, tried to remove it brushed my teeth and had breakfast and my lips are still stained purple is a lot to go by, I'd say we are on to a winner. Just not sure how I'm going to get this off before work! I think the only downside to this product is it's totally unsuitable for people with dry lips. I don't suffer with dry lips but for people who do this is almost certainly going to cling to the tiniest bit of dryness!

All in all I'm over the moon with this product and think its a niffy little gem!

*Also just a quick message to say my give away with wonderland wigs has now finished! So if you've entered keep an eye out as I may be in touch!

NYC Metro Quartet Eyeshadow - Gothic Harlem

Hello beauties!

I wont lie, I was disappointed when I first swatched this product and considered not even posting it, Let me tell you the story go on grab a cuppa! It started last month I was proper skint, but was looking for a lot of products for as little as possible. In comes Fragrance Direct, I thought it would be good to try and get as many items for 99p and this Quartlet was one of the items. I love a good smokey eye and for 99p, why not?

So the day came and I was excited to see it came with directions! I liked the packaging it's small enough to slip in a hand bag if you need a touch up. It's sturdy and doesn't feel easily breakable with my clumsy hands. On to the swatch, If you read my blog frequently you'll know I like to take detailed photos and try to show you products as much as I can and will often to a swatch on my arm and on my eye, the arm swatch it missing in this post. Reason being, the swatches were diabolical.  Chalky, pale and non-pigmented I washed it off and forgot about the pallet I wasn't upset it was only 99p after all!

Until now, it hadn't been used but I had some free time and wanted to test it out. I was pleasantly surprised to find with the aid of MUA eyeshadow primer the colours were good. Not the best but not as dreadful as I had originally felt about it, I followed the instructions not what I would normally do but I went for it and it was also surprisingly pretty!

Although this isn't the best product its not the worse I've ever used and for 99p I can't complain to much. Although I casted it to the side rather hastily! You can buy it HERE.

E.L.F Lipstick - Gypsy.

Hello Beauties,
This is just a small heads up, my next few posts will possibly all be ELF. We broke up for a while, but things are back on now..

Lets just get it out there, I thought according to the Elf cosmetic website this would be a perfect shade for Autumn the name 'Gypsy' had surged all kinds of autumnal feelings within me, Dark purple lipstick, Dark eye make-up, urgh. Heaven, but upon opening this sturdy little package I discovered a rich pink lipstick that once applied was nothing like the bullet. I would of been disappointed had I not loved the colour immensely! It's a almost matte lipstick but in the most gorgeous 'your lips but better' colour. I'm sure but I think I also detect a blue undertone, my favourite of the undertones. It's smooth, it's sleek and it lasts well. Everything your heart could desire from a £1.50 lipstick. Just be sure to check a swatch online or you could be in for an upset!

I'd love to know what your favourite ELF Essentials product is, as I'm having a field day!
