Dove Summer Glow - Gradual Tan Review

Hello beauties,
I've never been a fake tanner or any type of tanner, I'm a pale girl with a pink undertone which I really do love but I was getting a little fed up of hiding my legs away when I was wearing summer dresses! So I've decided to divulge in a few gradual tans, This was the first one I picked up as I'd never seen it before and upon opening the bottle it smelt a really lovely sweet/floral smell and I think its was around the £2.60 mark (on offer) so I snapped it up!

When applying this gradual tan I found it was surprisingly easy to move around especially as some who had never applied any tan of any type I was so worried about the 'application' and the the 'outcome' It started to develop  almost straight away but very subtle. I then let it dry for around a hour (cautious Carly over here.) and then put my pj's on and let it do its thing over night. When I woke up I took the photo above!

I honestly couldn't of been more impressed. I really love the colour outcome and it really gets rid on the pink tone in my skin. I don't perticually enjoy having a tan as I've spent the last 20 years looking like Caspers girlfriend but I do however love people telling me I look 'healthy' for the first time, ever. I also put this on lightly for the next 2 nights and it looked great maybe a little bit too dark so I think once a week is enough for me. The only downside? The smell, My mum remarked that I smelt like 'soggy biscuits' Lovely and sadly un-avoidable. If I could find a gradual tanner that didn't have that smell but worked like this one I would be one happy chappy!

Have you tried Dove Summer Glow yet?

  1. I love a fake tan and used to use gradual tanners constantly before moving up to instant! I never got a result like yours tho after the first application, great result :)

  3. I really dislike this stuff. After a few days it started coming off my skin in the weirdest way, making it look like I had a skin disease. I'm glad you like it though, just proves that everyone is different :) You look really great with a tan BTW and it's not too orangey, that is one good thing about this product, I will say. x

    1. That's such a shame, I felt as if when it was ready to come off I just quickly exfoliated and it all came off in one go and really quickly! x

  4. Such a bargain but the smell is a bit off putting. I recommend Palmer's gradual tanner, it's just as good and smells nice!

  5. I've tried it before but a couple of years ago. I liked it at first but when the tan started to develop I seemed to get orange knees and elbows and nothing anywhere else haha... not the greatest of looks.

Glad it's worked for you though!

  9. I've got the same pale with pink undertones type of skin and this review was so cool! I've been thinking of using self tanning products, but I'm always scared they'll turn me so orange. Great to see that one look so natural!

  10. Ah I used to love this but I've since switched over to xen tan because I was too lazy to keep building it up. I'd recommend xen tan if you ever want to look brown over night! I'm very pale and I use the dark one and the next day I'm loads of shades darker, but not orange!x

  13. I also enjoy using this fake tanner, but the only problem I have, is with my hands and fingers. It look like your hand is pretty normal, how did you manage to get that result? :)
